What defines classical bronze statues?
Bronze has been one of the most durable materials for sculpture for millennia. Its high copper content provides robustness, crisp detail and a noble patina that makes each piece unique. Classical bronze statues focus on a harmonious, balanced visual language – inspired by antiquity, the Renaissance and other periods that still set the standard for proportion, expression and craftsmanship today. As a result, these works fit confidently into both classic and modern interiors and, thanks to their weather-resistant surface, are excellently suited for outdoor use. Outdoors, bronze fountains are a stylish complement to classical sculptures.
Our figures are created using the lost-wax casting process. First, the model is built up in wax and provided with sprues. A heat-resistant mould is then fired, the wax melted out and the bronze poured in molten. After cooling, numerous steps follow such as demoulding, fine welding, grinding and chasing. Finally, the surface is patinated and protected with wax. This process enables the finest details, crisp contours and a surface quality you can see and feel – true craftsmanship that lasts for generations. Motifs, sizes and placement
From the human body and allegories to mythical heroes: classical bronze statues feature themes that never go out of style. A timeless motif within nude art is the seated figure. Equally popular are depictions of children – discover our bronze statues of children. You will also find animal subjects and subtly abstract variants that remain true to classical forms. For formal gardens, bronze sundials as iconic, classical garden objects are a wonderful addition. A curated selection of classical motifs can be found in our range.
Choose compact sculptures for sideboard, fireplace or windowsill, and larger statues as a strong statement at the entrance, on the terrace or in the garden. As stylish companions in formal layouts, English garden vases are highly suitable. A sporty highlight outdoors, for example, are golfer figures. The natural patina looks particularly lively in the open air. Thanks to the M8 thread, you can securely mount your statue on a plinth or foundation – for example on a natural stone pedestal – beautifully staged and permanently stable. For Asian accents, Buddha bronzes and Asian bronze figures work especially well.
FAQ about classical bronze statues
How can you recognize a genuine bronze figure?
Genuine bronze feels cool and heavy, is not magnetic and shows fine traces of hand finishing (e.g. chasing). The patina is not a simple paint layer but chemically produced. Both sound and material feel full and dense. At Eliassen you also receive a certificate as proof of authenticity.
How much is a bronze statue worth?
The value depends on size, weight, level of detail, edition and execution of the motif. Hand-cast sculptures made of genuine bronze with a high copper content are durable and hold their value. At Eliassen you benefit from fair prices and often more attractive offers than with German suppliers – without compromising on quality and warranty.
How fast do we deliver and how do I mount the statue?
Many models are available immediately, others usually within a week. We deliver quickly to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. For mounting, the underside has an M8 thread: simply screw the statue to a pedestal or solid surface for maximum stability.
