What are glass paintings?
Glass paintings fall under the category of stained glass. This is a form of glass art that has been around for centuries. In the past, the glass was not as modern as it is today and various air bubbles appeared in the glass, which significantly reduced the quality. This is often repaired using modern glass. Modern glass contains no imperfections and makes it look much better.
Why do we choose glass paintings and not plexiglass paintings?
Glass paintings are certainly a nice current trend. The light effect of glass paintings is exceptionally beautiful and fits into any type of interior. As wall decorations they are real eye-catchers and we have a very large collection of glass paintings that you can see LIVE in our showroom. Why do we choose to offer glass paintings and not plexiglass paintings?
Plexiglass has the following disadvantages:
- It scratches very quickly
- Must absolutely not be cleaned with solvents
- Doesn’t shine like glass
- As clear as glass
- Plexiglass can discolour slightly in the autumn
It goes without saying that you will have more advantages with a painting made of glass, on the one hand due to the glossy appearance and that the quality is guaranteed.

A glass painting with a beautiful landscape
If you want to give your home an attractive look, choosing a landscape painting is a good idea. There are many options, from natural landscapes with striking color contrasts for a relaxed look to a painting of a cityscape to achieve a more modern look. There are also paintings of picturesque settings, such as a city center with water, where the colors and light are even better expressed thanks to the use of glass.
Portraits as a glass painting for a unique look
There are also many paintings with portraits available, including the Girl with the Pearl Earring or Trance. Although they all depict people, they create a unique atmosphere in their own way by using gray tones and contrasts or abstract shapes for a rather futuristic look. There are also paintings that look very realistic, such as Contrast, something that becomes clearer through the use of glass.
Bring nature into your interior with a glass painting as a beautiful wall decoration
If you are looking for good wall decoration for a rural or rustic look, paintings with animals or nature will certainly appeal to you. From a black and white image of two zebras called Gemini, to a beautiful image of the Ivory Coast and the stately statue of a lion, there are plenty of options to take your home decor to the next level.
