Serpentine or soapstone from which these sculptures are made are soft stone types found in various colors primarily in central Africa. Beautifully shiny, in various colors, but mostly dark gray.

These chunks of stone are worked over many hours with various tools, then sanded and polished until they are the right size, shape and shine.

This model statue with the effigy of a foursome may differ from the photo in color and shape, as it is handcrafted and also a natural material.
