HMS Penduick is not a specific boat, but the name of a new model of sailing yachts, best known by French sailor Eric Tabarly. The first Pen Duick was an 1898 fishing boat that was later refitted and with which Tabarly began his success, but he used the name for a series of different yachts. One of the best known is this Pen Duick II, a 1964 wooden J-class yacht.
The name became synonymous with Tabarly’s series of ocean racing yachts, with the exception of Pen Duick IV which was lost gin
Pen Duick II is one of the most famous, a 1964 wooden J-class yacht that competed in races such as the Fastnet Race and the Sydney-Hobart Race.
Most of the original Pen Duick yachts, except for Pen Duick IV, still race in classic events.
You will receive a box containing this wooden boat, you must raise the mast upon receipt, and then carefully tighten/slide the appropriate lines and linen sails.
