Who was Che Guevara?

Originally his name, Ernesto Guevara, was born in Argentina. Che Guevara, was a Cuban guerrilla leader and member of Fidel Castro's revolutionary movement. Despite his death fifty years ago, he is still incredibly popular.

Che Guevara grows up in a family of five children. In itself, the family was reasonably well-to-do, partly because his father was an architect and enjoyed a decent income. At the age of nineteen he decides to study medicine at university.

Che Guevara traveled extensively throughout South America, and it is said that he developed revolutionary thoughts during these travels, partly because he was confronted with so much poverty throughout South America.

In South America, Che is still revered as a saint. Especially because she sacrificed herself for the higher purpose. Che wanted to fight for all the inequality and poverty he was constantly confronted with. At the age of 28, Che joins the Fidel Castro guerrilla movement. Together they wanted in 1959 to overthrow the dictator of Cuba, Fulgencio Batista. This worked, and Che became a minister. Che had also set his sights on Bolivia, but the power of the Bolivian army was too strong. This is where Che was also injured. He is captured and on October 9, 1967, Che is executed.
