Ganesha has his elephant head due to a tragic misunderstanding. On a day when Shiva (father) leaves the House, Parvati (mother) makes her son Ganesha based on skin flakes and oils. When Shiva came home, the waking Ganesha choked his way. Shiva believed he was dealing with a rival and cut off his head. Parvati was inconsolable.

Servants were instructed to find a new head for the unfortunate, if necessary, from the first living creature they encountered. That turned out to be an elephant, so that the torso of Ganesha is made from the head of an elephant. So he came back to life, but he had to spend his life with a curious mind.

Ganesha is often depicted as Sentinel. He then carries a stick or an ax in his four hands. With the ax he chops away false illusions, with the stick he wants to control. There is more interesting symbolism to be found in his figure, as is the case with most Hindu gods.

For example, depicted a water lily symbolizing Ganesha's fearlessness and purity. One of its tusks is sometimes broken. This shows that even gods are not perfect. In one of his hands, often rice,is a sign of abundance. His crown is, of course, a sign of holiness, and his small eyes represent the need to look within and understand yourself. The mountain of Ganesha is a rat, which shows that big and small can live together in peace with each other.
Ganesha is the God of wisdom, bringer of luck and protection. At the beginning of every journey, every ritual and every major event, Ganesha is initially invoked and worshipped.
